Academy of Hospitality & Tourism Students from Miami Springs Senior High School off to Philadelphia as Winners of the Hispanic Heritance Essay Contest
Miami, FL – October 21, 2007 - Two students from the Academy of Hospitality & Tourism (AOHT) at Miami Springs Senior High School(MSSH) were recently announced as winners of the Hispanic Heritage Essay sponsored by the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC), and Southwest Airlines. Eight other students from the Academy of Hospitality & Tourism (AOHT) in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools were also announced as winners at a recent reception at The Four Seasons Hotels and Resort. The topic of the essay was “Hispanics – A Wealth of Contributions to the American Economy.” In addition to winning a trip to Philadelphia sponsored by the SFLHCC, their airfare and accommodations are sponsored by Southwest Airlines.
