The Reading Department of Miami Springs Senior High School strives to create a comprehensive program of academic, creative and practical development through a curriculum that reflects the richness of our unique community. All students need experiences with literature that can reflect the realities and ideals of their lives. That literature includes the multicultural and the classic, the traditional and the modern. Reading, writing, thinking, listening, speaking and viewing all are intricately linked to one another in the creation of a well-rounded student. We also emphasize the skills necessary to be competitive in the worlds of work and higher learning, as well as achieving success on the FCAT and other standardized tests.
