The mission of the Mathematics Department is to support the missions of the Miami Springs Senior High School, the Miami-Dade School District, and the Florida State Department of Education. The Mathematics Department seeks to build a strong math foundation in each of our students. By concentrating on pure curriculum and teaching the Sunshine State Standards, our students are better prepared for the FCAT and will earn a high school diploma that can give them the opportunity to continue their education at any post secondary institution. The department fosters an active auxiliary organization, Mu Alpha Theta, to encourage excellence. Whether the students' strength lies in Algebra I or calculus, we have a place for them in this organization. For students who need more help than what can be given during regular class time, each math teacher offers a tutoring session. The department strives to improve the articulation process for all students.
