GradeSlip # 3 given,

Miscellaneous given/ Due

* Date-   Date the homework and/or other assessments (grades), miscellaneous are

given and/or due for the entire term .

       *  To see any previous date assignments no longer available on the this Web Page

check your child's "Notebook Table of Contents" which starts with all the

          assignments beginning at every term.

* Homework-  Sec (2-7) Con' t, means that the student is to work out of their issued take-home math book from chapter 2, Section 7, Pg 102 is the page(s).  Continued means this is the second or more days that additional homework and classwork is assigned on this particular section.  Homework is usually checked everyday for completion, otherwise I give them an extra day(s) and check all the homework's combined.

Two horizontal stamps on each of their homework paper represent a 100% score.

One horizontal and one vertical stamp represents a score of 75%.  One horizontal

stamp represents 50%.   I then collect either 4, 5, or 6 homework's that have already

been stamped and give them three grades for this packet combination.

       Example:  ( HW # 7- 6A ) means that I have now collected their 7th packet of

homework's with this one having 6A (6 assignments = 12 stamps).  The number of

stamps are then counted and their grade is based on the total number of stamps.

       ( HW # 8 - 4A ) would be the 8th set of homework's with 4A being

       (4 assignments = 8 stamps)

          * PARENTS  -   It is extremely important to make sure your child is keeping up with

their homework and that they are completing it on their own.  There is homework

almost every day and very little class time for them to do this in. Completed homework

and lecture note taking are the most important factors in your child's success in this

        class!

Ch. 2  Quiz B (2-3, 2-4) -  This information shows you this is the second quiz ( B ) given for Ch. 2.  A quiz is mostly given after every two sections ( 2-3, 2-4) followed by a Chapter test. Quizzes and tests account for 70 % of their entire grade!

Lecture Notes -  5-II  Con' t signifies that this is the 5th assignment of all 10 "II" lecture notes assigned. Continued just means that we have spent more than one or more days learning, practicing and taking notes on a particular section.

As soon as they reach 10 lecture notes "II", I collect them and give them 2 grades based on the number attempted and completed.  We then proceed with 10 more, but now with 1-10 "III", then 1-10 "IV", 1-10 "V", etc.

Lecture notes are a vital part of the class because this is where new material is introduced and students are required to copy this information and use it for references during their homework.

*GradeSlip # 3-  Will tell that this is the 3rd GradeSlip given.  Three GradeSlip's are given every term, therefore, twelve GradeSlip's are given throughout the year.  Parents, please make sure your child is showing you this so you can monitor your child's academic and attendance progress.

*All students will receive a progress report (GradeSlip), about one every three weeks, with all grades given and resulting average in the course. It will also include the total number of absences, excused and/or unexcused and the total number of tardies, for each term only.

This must be signed by a parent/guardian and returned the next school day by the student.  An individual grade will be given for the return of the parent signed GradeSlip.

Warm-Up Skills-     4-D means that this is the 4th assignment of all 10 "D"

warm-up skills assigned.  A warm-up skill is usually given every day at the beginning of class to prepare them as to what prerequisite skills they need in order to understand the new material that is to be introduced or what they should have previously learned to prepare them for the test they are about to take.

During this time is when I take roll and check their homework.  As soon as they reach 10 warm-up skills "D", I collect them and give them 2 grades based on the number attempted and completed.  We then proceed with 10 more, but now with 1-10 "E", then 1-10 "F",

1-10 "G", etc.

Miscellaneous-  These are other types of assessments or information, usually department or state tests such as IPEG's, FCAT, Interim Assessment test.  These are school requirements given in my class but not vital to this class in terms of a grade.  Included in miscellaneous is information such as pep rally's, early release, block scheduling, other miscellaneous information.  In addition to vital school information, this section also includes when assignments are due or assigned.
