Mission Statement

We, the ESOL Department of Miami Springs Sr. High School, are dedicated to helping our students with the acquisition of the language skills needed for academic achievement. In addition, while always respectful of their history and traditions, we present U.S. culture and encourage their full participation in it. We are committed to making a positive difference in our students’ lives. As ESOL teachers, our task goes further than within the walls of a classroom. We have to smooth our students’ difficult transition as newcomers to this country. We accept our responsibilities and face them enthusiastically, knowing that at the end, the satisfaction of seeing our students succeed is very well worth it.

“Aquí Entre Nos”

Mrs. Haydee Brodhead, Advisor

The objective of the ESOL Literary Club “Aquí Entre Nos” is to edit a bilingual newsletter every three months. This newsletter is a means of communication between the ESOL students, the school, the parents and the community. Through this, the students have the opportunity to express themselves in English and Spanish.

The club meets every Thursday during lunch in room #123. Although “Aquí Entre Nos” is a club for ESOL students, all students attending Miami Springs Senior High School are welcome.
