Silver Knights

The Golden Girls & Co. Dance Team competed
at the NDA Nationals Competition, held at the
Hard Rock Live, in Orlando, FL from March 7-8
and came back placing in theTop 10 for their
Jazz & Hip Hop Routines and in the Top 20, for
their High Kick Routine. They competed against
all 50 states and are currently preparing for their
last Dance Competition, coming up on March 27th.

First, they fueled up at Denny’s with a great morning breakfast then they went to Parrot Jungle Island for the personal interviews.  Each nominee was interviewed
by 3 judges in their specific category.

Yankiel's painting, The Miami Springs Bridge,
won 1st place for High School in the
Dade Heritage Days 2009 Contest.

Leandro Ramos' 3-D design is one of the 5
finalists in the Publix Design Challenge.

MSSH's Aqui Entre Nos students will be
participating in the Close Up Program for 2009.
They will travel, chaperoned by Ms. Brodhead,
to Washington, D.C. for a week in April.

Green Revolution is here at MSSH

Congratulations to the students that participated
in the Fairchild Challenge Opinion Papers.
Students wrote about environmental issues
of importance to them. Each high school
was allowed to submit three papers. Two of
our students were chosen to participate.
Honorable Mentions went to Toni Canonico who
received 95 points out of 100 points and
Stephanie Smith received 87 points.

Further congratulations goes to Natalia Sierra
who received Honorable Mention for Plants and
Their Pollinators, Photography.

MSSH Boys and Girls Tennis Rocks!

MSSH's Boys and Girls Tennis are off to a great
start with 2-0 records. They have already
defeated Hialeah Gardens and Hialeah High
with impressive scores. Girls won both
matches 7-0, the boys beat Hialeah
Gardens 7-0 and beat Hialeah High 6-1.
